This dataset contains the completed PRISMA 2020 checklist and flow diagram supporting the systematic review "Maize Canopy Architecture and Chili Shade Tolerance in Tropical Intercropping Systems: A Systematic Review of Microclimate Modification, Genetic Adaptation, and Breeding Targets." The dataset comprises two files: 1. PRISMA_2020_Checklist.docx — the completed 27-item PRISMA 2020 checklist, mapping each reporting item to its corresponding location within the manuscript. 2. PRISMA_2020_Flow_Diagram.png — the PRISMA 2020 flow diagram illustrating the identification, screening, eligibility, and inclusion stages of the systematic search, from 843 records initially identified to 566 studies retained in the working corpus for narrative synthesis. This dataset is provided in accordance with F1000Research's PRISMA reporting requirements to support transparency of the review process.
