Poles and People: Geographical Societies, Statehood, and Civil Society in Transnational Perspective (1870-1925)

This collection includes research data and results from the EU-funded project “Poles and People: Geographical Societies, Statehood, and Civil Society in Transnational Perspective (1870–1925)”, conducted at the University of Oslo (IAKH) between November 2022 and April 2025. It contains: the publication series of the Belgian, Viennese, Edinburgh, and Norwegian Geographical Societies (prior to 1925), fully developed teaching modules (in English and German) for five lessons on the topic “Colonialism, Polar and African Exploration”, all project publications released by June 2025, as well as the program of the conference “Epistemic Frontiers?”, held at the University of Oslo in April 2025.
