Surgical team communication skills in operation theatre

ABSTRACT The operation theatre is a area of the hospital where different healthcare professionals work together to perform surgical procedure. Surgeons, anaesthetic, nurses, operation theatre technician and other medical staff members need to better communication skills for communicate with each other smoothly to reduce the complications , misunderstanding and properly to complete their responsibilities. Communication skills is very important in operation theatre for patients safety and effective team work however, sometimes communication can affected by many factors such as more work load , less time pressure, emergencies, incomplete information about patient and other many more reasons The aim of this study is to assess the communication skills between surgical team members working in the operation theatre more focus on verbal communication, non verbal communication, teamwork, communication during emergency situation and other .
