Production volume of apples in Italy 2014-2023

In 2018, the Italian output of apples amounted to 2.4 million tons. This figure was in line with the average production reported in the country since 2014. However, 2017 represented an exception, as the severe weather conditions in August caused a lower harvest volume (1.9 million tons) during that year. According to the producers, because of the lower production, a greater amount of apples was destined to the industrial processing. In 2023, total apple production had a slight decrease and realized at approximately 2.2 million tons.
