Seamounts_MSP_New_Caledonia_BRUVS_eDNA_Acoustic

This dataset contains BRUVS (Baited Remote Underwater Video Station) data for 120 benthic video stations, acoustic data recorded at 38 kHz using an EK60 echosounder, eDNA MOTUs for 150 benthic water samples and eDNA MOTUs for 90 pelagic water samples, collected in 11 seamounts and four continental slopes of New-Caledonia between April 2019 and September 2020. Benthic BRUVS and eDNA samples were collected between 45 m and 570 m. Acoustic data were recorded between 10 m and 800 m deep. Pelagic eDNA samples were collected at six depths: 20, 80, 150, 250, 500 and 1000 m. The data were collected under permits to Laurent Vigliola by the Government of New-Caledonia (permits N°2019-733/GNC, 2020-503/GNC and 2020-1077/GNC), the Southern Province of New Caledonia (permits N°898-2019/ARR/DENV, 989-2019/ARR/DENV, 844-2020/ARR/DDDT and 1955-2020/ARR/DDDT) and the Northern Province of New Caledonia (permits N°609011-18/2019/DEPART/JJC and 609011-39/2020/DEPART/JJC). Collection was performed during the SEAMOUNTS project led by Laurent Vigliola. The data contains the outputs of BRUVS video analyses, the outputs of eDNA bioinformatic analyses, and the outputs of acoustic data processing as described in Mathon et al. 2024. The metadata contains information on the stations, the sampling filters, sampling locations and associated environmental variables.
