The Age Poll was first conducted in March 1971 by the Australian Sales Research Bureau Pty. Ltd. before switching to Irving Saulwick and Associates in April 1975. Conducted in November 1972 this 'Age Poll' is the eighth in the Age Poll series. For this Age Poll, marginal Federal electorates across Australia were surveyed. Topics covered in this survey are perceptions of the most important issues for the Federal election to be held on the 2nd December 1972, economic conditions in Australia, interest in election campaign, personal party political identification and opinions on Prime Minister Whitlam and Mr McMahon. Standard variables are country of birth, education level, religious denomination and frequency of church attendance, occupation of respondent and head of household, marital status, age group, sex, vote intention and vote at last Federal election, and whether on the telephone.
