VPRS 13550 General Files, Chief Medical Officer, Group Manager, Work Environment and Employee Health

This series comprised General Files maintained by (Dr G.D. Ramage) the Medical Officer, (? 1981 to 1986), Chief Medical Officer, 1987 to 1989) of the Victorian Railways VA 2876 the State Transport Authority (VA 1038) from 1983 to 1989, and the Group Manager, Work Environment and Employee Health, Public Transport Corporation (PTC, VA 2984) from 1989 to ??1997.The series documented the functions of the Occupational Medicine Department. The Chief Medical Officer was responsible for overall management of the department, the provision of medical opinion to other sections of the Authority, the formulation of policy and as the Authorities adviser on medico-legal matters. The Medical Officer conducted medical examinations as required and provided the Authority with medical opinions as to its employees' health.
