Gut microbiota in canine atopic dermatitis and the effect of probiotic administration

This study aimed to characterize the gut microbiota of cAD dogs compared to healthy dogs and track the microbiota and clinical scores during the 16-week probiotic administration period to enhance the understanding of the effects of probiotics in cAD dogs. Moreover, this study tried to confirm which host-related factors or microbes affect the prognosis through a retrospective investigation based on the change in clinical scores with probiotic administration.
