Whole Genome Sequencing of Solanum lycopersicum: lazy shoot 1 (lzs1) and lazy shoot 2 (lzs2) siblings pool of plants.

Tomato growing upside down is unnatural since plant have gotten upright to maintain the top position against stems of other plants. However, upside-down growth could be beneficial to handle determinate tomato plants in the greenhouse with hanging pots system. In this study, we identify mutations in two genes for upside-down growth traits but they produced normal flowers and fruits. lazy shoot 1 (lzs 1) and lazy shoot 2 (lzs 2) shows reduced responds against gravity in the shoots and hypocotyls. We propose that variations in the LZS1 and LZS2 could give breeders beneficial resources for the future tomato breeding in the greenhouse having hanging pots/beds system.
