资源简介:
In the summer of 1965, Whittaker et al. sampled 93 trees west of watershed 6 at the Hubbard Brook Experimental Forest. Allometric equations modeling the biomass of various components in relation to diameter and height were published in 1974 in Ecological Monographs , and form the basis for most subsequent biomass estimates at Hubbard Brook and in many other northeastern locations. The data posted here are oven-dry biomass data by component by tree. These Hubbard Brook allometry data have been included in the following two larger allometry databases: Falster, D.S. et al, 2015. BAAD: a Biomass And Allometry Database for woody plants. Ecology 96, 1445. <ulink url="https://doi.org/10.1890/141889.1">https://doi.org/10.1890/141889.1</ulink> Kattge, J. et al, 2020. TRY plant trait database – enhanced coverage and open access. Glob. Chang. Biol. 26, 119–188. <ulink url="https://doi.org/10.1111/gcb.14904">https://doi.org/10.1111/gcb.14904</ulink> These data were gathered as part of the Hubbard Brook Ecosystem Study (HBES). The HBES is a collaborative effort at the Hubbard Brook Experimental Forest, which is operated and maintained by the USDA Forest Service, Northern Research Station.
