Microbiome analysis of respiratory tract samples taken from patiens of community-acquired pneumoniae patients. human respiratory tract metagenome

In this study we have analysed respiratory tract samples (nasal and pharyngeal swabs, tracheal secrete and bronchoalveolar lavage) of CAP-positive, mechanically -ventilated patients in order to identify and describe the microbiome of the respiratory tract using NGS methods. Further interest of the study was finding a way to associate certain clinical scores describing the severity of the CAP to the microbiome of the lower respiratory tract, specifically tracheal secrete and BAL samples.
