USDA Yield and Retention

**Overview**
This data package contains information on USDA statistics on milk and dairy products production and supply, their utilization and commercial disappearance. It also provides information on wheat, meat and poultry cooking yield and adoption of genetically engineered crops in the United States.

**Description**
This data package is a collection of datasets obtained by USDA (United States Department of Agriculture). The data is updated annually. The datasets include following statistics; - Number of milk cows, production of milk per cow and total milk production by state and region in the United States. - Dairy product per capita consumption; fluid milk sales; milk supply by State and region; milk production and supply and utilization of milk in all dairy products. - Commercial disappearance data of milk products: milk-equivalent milk-fat, milk-equivalent skim-solids, milk fat and skim solids. - Meat and Poultry cooking yields and retention factors are important because they serve as a major resource for U.S. and international food composition databases. - Planted and harvested acreage of five varieties of wheat, including hard red winter, hard red spring, soft red winter, white, and durum and rye. The estimation of the production, yields and farm prices have also been included in this dataset. - The adoption of herbicide-tolerant and insect-resistant corn, cotton, and soybeans. The data is obtained by USDA's (United States Department of Agriculture) National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS)
