#Observa opinion polls: #---------------------- # #From 1967 and onwards Observa (from 1990 GfK Danmark) has carried out a number of opinion polls, i.e. surveys of attitudes and habits of life, partly through so-called political index polls (postal panel surveys) and partly through more extensive attitudinal surveys based on interviews. The political index polls have been carried out regularly in the period (approx. 10 times a year), whereas the attitudinal surveys have been carried out quarterly in the period 1969 to 1972. The current data collection of similar data material over a long period of time makes it possible to carry out various kinds of time series analyses, especially as regards party preference. #Other subjects are usually treated more superficially owing to the conditions under which the surveys are carried out (they are designed for publication in daily papers so the main emphasis has been put on topical issues, and only subjects which may be dealt with by means of a limited number of questions are included). #Until 1971 the political index polls were carried out for the daily paper Aktuelt; from 1972 for the daily paper Morgenavisen Jyllands-Posten. The attitudinal surveys have been carried out exclusively for Jyllands-Posten. # # #Observa Political Index Polls, 1992: #------------------------------------ #In 1992 GfK Danmark carried out 11 political index polls. All the questions from these surveys, together with a fixed set of recurring background variables, are found in DDA-1991: Observa Political Index Polls, 1992. In addition, the individual political index polls, which contain various questions on topical issues, are found in DDA-1992 to DDA-2002. # #This survey (DDA-2001 Observa Political Index Polls 1992: November) deals with the following topical issues: # #Party preference; whether Poul Schlüter should be the prime minister candidate of the non-Socialist parties at the next general election; preferred chairman of the Conservative People's Party if Poul Schlüter resigns; whether Connie Hedegaard ought to return to Danish politics; which parties are 'unnecessary' in Danish politics; preferred prime minister in a coming government; which government the Centre Democrats ought to support if the present government resigns; assessment of the political performance of Mimi Jakobsen; whether the Centre Democrats will be eliminated from Parliament after a general election if Mimi Jakobsen steps down as party chairman; which parties have least respect for the attitudes of the voters; whether the state should always choose a Danish firm in connection with purchases and investments; whether the politicians ought to force the Danish State Railways to continue/resume the negotiations with Scandia in Randers concerning the purchase of new S-trains instead of placing the order in Germany; whether the Socialist People's Party ought to vote for the Budget; whether the unemployment rate may be halved before the year 2000; whether it should be possible to sentence people who are HIV-positive or who have AIDS for assault with intent to kill if they have unsafe sex; voting intention if the national compromise is to be decided upon at a referendum; whether Anders Fogh Rasmussen ought to resign because of the AMBI case; assessment of who will win the football match between Northern Ireland and Denmark; whether enterprises should be allowed to take out patents on the basis of experiments on animals or on genetically engineered animals; and assessment of a number of TV hosts
