Supplementary Data Files D1–D3 for Vita et al., 2026; Microbial-Derived Polyphenol Metabolites and the Gut Microbiota: A Scoping Review of Clinical Studies

This repository contains Supplementary Data Files D1–D3 accompanying the manuscript Microbial-Derived Polyphenol Metabolites and the Gut Microbiota: A Scoping Review of Clinical Studies (Vita et al., 2026). These files comprise the extracted study-level data on reported associations between microbial-derived polyphenol metabolites (MPMs) and gut microbiota outcomes, including microbial taxa, microbial diversity metrics, and other microbiome-related measures. Additional extracted variables include study characteristics, study design features, intervention details (where applicable), participant characteristics, metabolite classifications, and outcome information relevant to the review. File D1 contains data related to urolithins, D2 contains data related to phytoestrogen metabolites, and D3 contains data related to phenolic acids, flavonoids, and other microbial-derived polyphenol metabolites. These files were used to synthesize the findings of the review and are provided to enhance transparency and reproducibility.
