Telegram Palestine

This dataset contains Telegram messages collected from a curated set of public Telegram channels related to the ongoing situation in Palestine and Gaza. Messages were gathered using a custom Python crawler built on the Telethon library, which connects to the Telegram API and retrieves historical messages from each channel in a rate-limited and fault-tolerant manner. The monitored channels include: PalestineSolidarityBelgium, Eyeonpalestine2, haqqintel, samidounnetwork, resistancechain, PalestinianResistance, PalestineHealth, PalestineUpdates, GazaNow, Palestine2024, FreePalestine2023, StopGazaGenocide, AlQassamBrigades9, palestineresistance, pal_Online9, gazaalanpa, palestineonline, TIMESOFGAZA, The_Jerusalem_Post, gazaenglishupdates, Gazasupport, and QudsNen. Messages are stored in daily JSON files, with one file per channel and collection date, and duplicate entries are prevented by tracking unique message identifiers. Each message record includes the message ID, textual content, and timestamp in ISO 8601 format. The dataset is intended to support research in areas such as social media analysis, information dissemination, conflict studies, sentiment analysis, and computational social science. All data were collected exclusively from publicly accessible Telegram channels, without accessing private groups or personal user data. Data are from 2024-2026.
