The second generation of Directional Polarization Camera (DPC-2) onboard the Chinese GF-5(02) satellite was launched in September 2021, features a spatial resolution of 3.3 km at nadir and a swath width of 1850 km, enabling global coverage within two days. This dataset contains aerosol and surface products collected by DPC-2/GF-5(02) for one-year (March 2022 to February 2023).Before retrieval was attempted, pixels containing cloud, snow & ice were identified in the DPC-2/GF-5(02) L1B data and excluded from further retrieval. Satellite data were collected over an area within 50 km radius around the AErosol RObotic NETwork (AERONET) station. This dataset was generated using the Remote sensing of Trace gases and Aerosol Products (RemoTAP) algorithm.The aerosol and ocean properties retrieved from DPC-2/GF-5(02) include: Effective Radius, Effective Variance, Aerosol Layer Height, Aerosol Optical Thickness (AOT), fine-mode (AOT_Fine) and coarse-mode (AOT_Coarse) optical thickness, Ångström Exponent (AE), Single Scattering Albedo (SSA), windspeed, and Chlorophyll-a concentration (Chla). Validation of the DPC-2/GF-5(02) aerosol products against AERONET reference data shows a good agreement, For AOT (550 nm), AE (440-870nm) and SSA (550 nm) retrieval, the Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) is 0.065, 0.318 and 0.035. The global 12-Month-Average (12MA) products are provided at a spatial resolution of 0.2° and cover both land and ocean. The dataset includes AOT at 550 nm, AE between 440 and 670 nm, and SSA at 440 nm. The above data are provided in NetCDF format.
