Household Survey Dataset on Salinity, Migration Aspiration, and Civic Engagement in Coastal Bangladesh (Koyra & Shyamnagar, 2026)
收藏资源简介:
This dataset contains household-level survey data collected from 426 households in the coastal Upazilas of Koyra (Khulna District) and Shyamnagar (Satkhira District), Bangladesh, during November 2024–May 2025. The dataset documents salinity exposure (water and soil electrical conductivity), migration aspirations, financial capability, institutional trust, civic engagement, political participation, social capital, and key socio-demographic characteristics. The data were collected as part of a study examining the relationship between salinity-induced livelihood stress, the aspiration–capability framework of migration, and civic agency in climate-vulnerable coastal communities. Variables include measures of drinking water salinity (EC_Water_dS_m), soil salinity (EC_Soil_dS_m), household income, migration aspiration, mobility category, trust in local and national government, civic engagement indices, and primary livelihood sources. This dataset supports analyses of climate-induced immobility, trapped populations, governance outcomes, and social cohesion in the Bangladesh delta. The dataset is suitable for research on climate migration, adaptation, institutional trust, and community resilience.
