资源简介:
Samples associated with a shallow pit house at site 26CK1282 were examined for pollen
and macrofloral remains to provide information concerning plant resources utilized by the
occupants of the pit house, particularly evidence for use of wetland resources or farming.
Individual charcoal samples representing construction members also were submitted for
identification. This site was buried in the floodplain of Las Vegas Wash in southern Nevada
and appears to represent occupation around A.D. 500-700, which is pre-ceramic for this area.
Finding evidence for use of wetland resources or agriculture would provide an explanation for
the relative degree of sedentism reflected by construction of a pithouse.
