De-identified dataset and analytic code for "Modernising the Negative Mood Regulation Scale: Psychometric Refinement and the Antecedent Position of Mood-Regulation Expectancy in Emotion Regulation"

De-identified dataset and R analytic code supporting the manuscript (submitted, Current Psychology). The dataset (N = 973; all respondents with complete responses to the 30 NMRS items) contains item-level Negative Mood Regulation Scale responses (Catanzaro & Mearns, 1990; hypothetical stem, 0 to 4 coding), composite scores for the emotion regulation and affective measures analysed in the manuscript, and four coarse-grained demographic variables. The analytic sample of N = 951 reported in the paper is identified by the analytic_sample indicator variable; the 22 excluded cases failed the data quality screening described in the Method section, which draws on completion-time and full-battery variables not included in the deposit. Direct and indirect identifiers and item-level responses to measures other than the NMRS are excluded because the original participant consent did not authorise their open-access release. The code folder contains the full analytic pipeline and the sensitivity analyses reported in the revised manuscript; see README.md for contents, codebook, and reproducibility scope.
