资源简介:
The researchers collected drinking water, wastewater, and stool samples from various water sources in rural villages and successfully isolated pathogenic bacteria such as E.coli, B. cereus, and V. cholerae. To confirm the presence of these pathogens, the researchers used Matrix-Assisted Laser Desorption Ionization-Time of Flight Spectrometry and Conventional PCR techniques. Furthermore, whole genome sequencing was carried out to identify, compare, and profile the selected pathogens. Analyzing the genetic diversity of these pathogens in different water sources and understanding the relatedness between them could aid in controlling and managing waterborne diseases .The study's results could provide important insights into the prevalence and transmission of waterborne pathogens in rural communities and help public health officials develop strategies to mitigate the risk of waterborne diseases. This research could also contribute to the development of more effective water treatment and sanitation practices to reduce the incidence of waterborne illnesses in rural areas.
