Characterisation of the microbiome associated with an aluminium-anode bio-photo-voltaic system

This study is part of a larger study examining the utility of a prototype aluminium-anode bio-photo-voltaic system (Al-BPV) to continuously generate electrical energy. The microbiome analysis compared the differences in bacterial diversity (V3-V4 16S rRNA amplicon sequencing) between the anode (~biofilm) and liquid medium compartments of the Al-BPV after four months of continuous operation powering an ARM Cortex M0+ central processing unit.
