Due to its unique geographical location and natural conditions, the Mount Everest (Qomolangma) region has formed a relatively complete vertical natural zonation, and is rich in natural resources available for agricultural, forestry and animal husbandry development. This dataset is stored in Excel format, contains 20 worksheets, and comprehensively analyzes the natural zonation and its distribution rules in this region. The data covers various natural zonation types on both the southern and northern flanks, including subtropical evergreen broad-leaved forest zone, warm temperate mixed coniferous and broad-leaved forest zone, cold temperate coniferous forest zone, subalpine cold temperate shrub-meadow zone, and alpine frigid meadow-cushion vegetation zone, etc. Each worksheet records detailed information such as soil types, physico-chemical properties, vegetation characteristics, and climatic conditions. This dataset was compiled based on the survey data from 1966 to 1968, and referred to previous research results. It aims to provide basic data for the development of alpine physical geography, and promote in-depth understanding of the formation characteristics and influencing factors of natural zonation in the Everest region. This is the first digital compilation achievement of the Qinghai-Tibet Scientific Expedition data, and is expected to provide scientific basis for the rational development and utilization of the region.
