Vintage wine quality ratings for Burgundy and Bordeaux

We extracted wine quality data from Broadbent 2002 (Broadbent, M. Vintage Wine: Fifty Years of Tasting Three Centuries of Wine (Harcourt, 2002).), which represents wine quality assessed by a single observer, who also attempted to correct for ‘age since vintage’ in his ratings. Ratings were scaled from 0 to 5, with 0 indicating a ‘poor’ vintage and 5 indicating an ‘outstanding’ vintage. We extracted data for the 1900–2001 vintages in Bordeaux and Burgundy (2001 being the last year of data in the book). Data were analyzed in Cook & Wolkovich, 'Climate change decouples drought from early wine grape harvests in France' published in Nature Climate Change 2016.
