The alteration in the gut microbiota induced by antibiotics is enormous and prolonged, and it is influences on bone mass and microstructure has been elucidated. However, the effects of the gut flora on bone fracture union are not known.This is the first known report to elucidate antibiotic alteration of gut microbiota effects on bone fracture union. The current study substantially advances knowledge about the role of gut microbiota disorder in the bone fracture union when host experience bone fracture, with infection or not.
