In this study, the effect of substitution of alkaline cation sodium for calcium in a special type of geopolymer has been investigated. The geopolymer was a combination of the Rafsanjan Natural Pozzolan (RNP), the Cement Kiln Dust (CKD) powder, and Calcium Carbide (CCR) and Sodium Hydroxide (NaOH) as alkaline activators, which are used for stabilization of poor sandy soils (SP). The effect of various factors such as alkaline activators concentration, CKD content, RNP content, deleting CKD powder, deleting RNP, and curing time were studied. Chemical compounds of Soil, CKD powder, RNP, and CCR were analyzed using XRF detection test. Unconfined Compressive Strength testing was utilized as a criterion for the evaluation of mechanical behavior of the specimens. Microstructural analyzes of SEM and XRD confirmed the distribution of geopolymer gel. The results depicted that the replacement of sodium with calcium is more effective in the stabilization of SP soil.
