资源简介:
The Participants of the IABP work together to maintain a network of drifting buoys in the Arctic Ocean to provide meteorological and oceanographic data for real-time operational requirements and research purposes including support to the World Climate Research Programme (WCRP) and the World Weather Watch (WWW) Programme. The IABP measurements include the following variables: Sea level pressure, Surface air temperature, Sea ice motion, Snow depth, Sea ice thickness, Sea ice temperatures, Ocean temperatures and Ocean circulation. Additional variables, such as surface winds, atmospheric chemistry, longwave and shortwave radiation are also desirable and buoy deployment, data collection, analysis and dissemination from these instruments will be facilitated by the Programme. The Programme will strive to establish and maintain a well distributed network with observational points no more than 250 kilometers apart. As far as practical, buoys will be deployed to achieve and maintain this density over the operational area. The images are IABP scientific data products provided by the Polar Science Center (PSC) of University of Washington. They can be found on a CD produced by Integrated Science Data Management at the Department of Fisheries and Oceans Canada and through the IABP web site http://iabp.apl.washington.edu/ . The charts are Sea Level Pressure, Surface Air Temperature, Ice Motion and Composite Figures (1979-1998).
