"Neubeschnittene Heiden" ("Newly circumcised heathen"). Five boys. Four of them dressed and adorned like Maasai or Arusha boys after circumcision with white painted faces, long leather robes, ear spirals, feather headdresses and bows and arrows. One dressed in a cloth and wearing a cap on his head, the face also painted white.; Cf. photo no. 409, album no. 19. -- Leonhard Blumer (1878-1938), from Kida in Estonia, served the Leipzig Mission as pastor and teacher in Arusha from 1907 to 1930 (apart from home leave in 1912-1913 and 1924-1926).
