In order to harvest the potential of quantum technologies, a strong understanding of many-body quantum physics is needed. In this respect, Quantum Simulators are the models that allow us to learn that - they can be solved, measured and modified. Among them, quantum spin ladders bridge the gap between one and two dimensions and have complex excitation spectra, which depend on the relative strengths of the leg and rung exchange interactions. While the realization of strong-rung ladders is fairly common, only one strong-leg ladder has been studied in detail so far. Here, we propose to use neutron spectroscopy to unveil the magnetic excitations in a new quantum spin ladder (C5H9NH3)2CuBr4 and determine whether it is a strong-leg system as bulk measurements suggest. This would position it as a quantum simulator for further control studies, for example using uniaxial pressure.
