Physical data were collected from CTD casts from the Bay of Bengal and Indian Ocean. Data were collected from October 1983 to August 1996. Data were collected and submitted by the National Institute of Oceanography (NIO), India and provided to the Global Temperature-Salinity Pilot Project (GTSPP).
