In this lecture, I discuss remaining pain points on the path towards gender equality in the labor market, including gender differences in educational choices and asymmetric child penalties. I discuss how gender stereotypes and gender identity norms can help us understand these pain points. I also review how research, policy--makers and organizations may reinforce gender stereotypes and highlight suggestions for change. <br>
