A Philippine Dataset of Municipal- and City- Level Typhoon Hazard Indicators (ERA5) and Affected Population Rate (DSWD), 2017–2026
收藏资源简介:
This dataset contains a cleaned municipal- and city-level dataset for modelling typhoon-affected population rates in the Philippines. The impact data were derived from Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) situational reports, while the hazard variables were derived from ERA5 reanalysis data. Each observation corresponds to a municipality or city affected by a typhoon event and includes the affected population rate together with meteorological and hydrological hazard indicators. The affected population rate was computed by normalizing the reported number of affected persons by the average population of each municipality or city. This allows typhoon impacts to be compared across locations with different population sizes. The dataset includes rainfall, wind, pressure, runoff, soil moisture, atmospheric moisture, temperature, spatial, and temporal variables that may be used for statistical analysis and predictive modelling. This dataset was prepared as part of an undergraduate thesis on modelling typhoon-affected population rates using regression-based analysis and machine learning. It is shared to support transparency, reproducibility, and future research on disaster risk analysis, typhoon impact modelling, and anticipatory disaster response in the Philippines.
