Supplementary Fig. 1. The heatmap and unsupervised hierarchical clustering show the gene expression profile of selected exercise-modulated acute lung injury (ALI) response genes in (A) tibialis anterior (28 genes) and (B) diaphragm (36 genes) skeletal muscle in mice instilled intratracheally with water (Sham, N=3), lipopolysaccharides to induce ALI (N=4), and ALI + exercise (N=4) condition. We performed the unsupervised hierarchical clustering for differentially expressed genes using PermutMatrix software (https://www.atgc-montpellier.fr/permutmatrix/). Euclidian distance matrix between samples was generated using z-score normalized expression values for each differentially expressed transcript and seriation under multiple fragment heuristics. The hierarchical clustering-based tree and heat map were generated using McQuitty’s criteria.
