Ricinulei UCE

Ricinulei are cryptic soil dwelling arthropods and the one of the most neglected and least understood arachnid groups. Due to their low vagility, Ricinulei are particularly informative for studies of biogeography. Previous phylogenetic analyses have recovered conflicting results regarding the relationships within Ricinulei. Some fail even to recover the monophyly of the three genera. To resolve these phylogenetic questions, we conducted the most comprehensive phylogenomic study of Ricinulei. Using ultra-conserved element or UCE sequencing, the study included representatives from all major lineages of Ricinulei.
