In Chiba Prefecture, we are conducting MLVA (multi-locus variable number tandem repeat analysis) analysis of Mycobacterium tuberculosis isolates in the prefecture. A total of 4829 strains of Mycobacterium tuberculosis isolated in Chiba Prefecture between 2008 and 2019 were tested. A total of 4829 Mycobacterium tuberculosis strains were tested from 2008 to 2019, of which 3606 were classified as Beijing type and 990 as modern type. Among the strains classified as the modern type, 21 strains that formed specific clusters and 12 strains that formed clusters with one region difference were subjected to whole genome analysis and snip analysis.
