The Sierra Nevada Parnassian (Parnassius behrii) is butterfly in the family Papilionidae and is endemic to the central and southern regions of the Sierra Nevada mountain range. It is generally restricted to high-altitude habitats, such as alpine meadows and scree slopes, where its host plants (Sedum spp.) occur. Available data suggest that many P. behrii populations have been declining or have gone extinct in recent decades. These data have been produced as part of the CCGP. Sequencing was conducted with HiFi Pacific Biosciences long reads at UCDavis Genome Core, Dovetail's OmniC libraries, and Illumina sequencing at UCBerkeley QB3 Genomics Core.
