This project consists of two main parts. First, we considered whether the frequency of genome segments (i.e., the "genome formula") varies between isolates of cucumber mosaic virus (CMV). Second, we performed experimental evolution of CMV strain I17F in three host plant species: Nicotiana tabacum, Nicotiana benthamiana and Arabidopsis thaliana. In both parts of the study, deep sequencing is used to determine the genome sequence and the genome formula.
