16S amplicon sequencing of a rumen continuous culture fermentation system. bovine gut metagenome

This experiment compared the bacterial community of bovine rumens and a continuous culture fermentation system. Continuous culture fermenters are commonly used to study rumen fermentation in vitro. The goal of this experiment was to determine the suitability of fermenters to study community-based changes in the bacterial population, and to serve as a benchmark for the microbial community of future in vitro studies.
