The goal is to find the target of experimental compound X1, characterize it and reveal the mode of action/mode of resistance. Compound X1 resistant Mtb were isolated and analysed by WGS. Further to look into specifity to Mtb, different genetically engineered M. smegmatis strains were constructed and minimal inhibitory concentration was determined.
