Alzheimer disease (AD), also known as dementia, is a neurodegenerative disease closely related to age. In recent years, with the sharp rise of world population aging, Alzheimer's disease has become a recognized world health problem. P-Hydroxybenzaldehyde (p-HBA), as one of the main active components of Gastrodia elata, has neurorestorative and cerebroprotective effects, and our previous study showed that it could delay the paralysis time in AD worm model, which has some potential for the treatment of AD. The aim of this study is to validate the effect of p-HBA in treating AD and to explore its mechanism in depth based on the model of C. elegans, so as to provide ideas and references for the research on anti-AD of Gastrodia elata and its active ingredients. At the same time, it also gives new ideas and directions for the research and development of drugs for the treatment of AD.
