Cluster dynamics in macroscopic photoactive particles

This repository contains the clusters detected in the experiments reported in "Cluster dynamics in macroscopic photoactive particles" (authors: Sára Lévay, Axel Katona, Hartmut Löwen, Raúl Cruz Hidalgo, and Iker Zuriguel). Experiments are done for five different total populations (N_T=40, 60, 80, 100, 120), and seven different homogeneous activity levels (P=23, 33, 43, 52, 60, 67, 72 mW), each repeated 5 times. Clusters were detected in all experiments, and their time evolution is published in this dataset. For the homogeneous illumination: Each experiment has an ID, which can be found in metadata.csv, along with N_T and P. cumulative_clusters.csv contains the time evolution for all the clusters detected in these experiments.The columns: 1: cluster ID, 2: frame number, 3: size of the cluster, 4: experiment ID.The time is measured in frames, and the videos were recorded with 30 fps. For inhomogeneous illumination: We have also conducted experiments to detect the cluster formation and dissolution.To induce cluster growth, we applied low illumination to one half of the arena, and once a large cluster was formed, we switched to a high, homogeneous illumination to induce cluster dissolution. The time evolution of cluster growth and dissolution is available in crdata_reduced.csv and dsdata_reduced.csv, respectively. A pseudo-code is provided in prepare_hist.md to process the cluster dissolution statistics and obtain the disassociation probabilities presented in Fig.5(e) of the manuscript.
