Lactic acid bacteria (LAB) constitute a significant group of microorganisms for the food industry, as they play a key role in food fermentation and consequently in human health. Lactobacillus acidipiscis ACA-DC 1533 is a Gram-positive, motile, rod-shaped LAB isolated from traditional Greek Kopanisti cheese. Here we present the in silico analysis of the first complete chromosomal sequence of L. acidipiscis in order to explore the biology of the species.
