This is a spreadsheet of data for Junonia coenia densovirus (JcDV) prevalence and load across populations of Melissa blue (Lycaeides melissa) adults sampled at specific time points over a span of 16 years. Virus prevalence ("virus_hit" = 1) of individuals was determined using qPCR with primers of the viral capsid gene. Viral "load" was calculated algebraically by use of a standard curve regression equation (y=-0.2413x + 11.601; R2 = 0.99) derived from the cycle threshold values of serial dilutions of viral stock (103 through 109 viral genome units). "ISO_date" (international format), "month," "year," "period," and "ord_date" (day of the year) are all columns for analyzing temporal patterns of sample collection time on viral prevalence. Populations of Melissa blues were recorded as using either novel alfalfa (Medicago sativa; "host_type" = A), native host plants (Astragalus, Lupinus, or Glycyrrhiza spp.; "host_type" = N), or both types for oviposition and larval diet.
