资源简介:
This dataset contains protein levels of four immediate early genes, namely EGR1, cFos, FoxP1, and Arc, measured in basal conditions or after social interaction with unknown congeners in brain structures of the murine social circuit. The subjects used to generate the dataset were wild-type mice and two mouse models of autism spectrum disorders – Shank3 and Fmr1 knock-out (KO) mice.
The original purpose of this dataset was to explore a potential dysregulation of immediate early genes’ expression after applying or omitting social stimuli in structures involved in the control of social behavior in Fmr1 and Shank3 KO mice compared to wild-type. For that, mice were or were not subjected to 10 minutes of social interaction with three unknown sex-, age- and genotype-matched mice. Two hours after social interaction mice were euthanized to sample five structures of the social circuit – prefrontal cortex (PFC), nucleus accumbens (NAC), caudate putamen (CPU), paraventricular hypothalamic nucleus (PVN), and supraoptic nucleus (SON), in which protein levels of immediate early genes were determined by western blotting.
This dataset can be used to explore the dynamic expression of immediate early genes in response to social interaction with unknown congeners and to investigate the dysregulation of this expression across different brain structures in the social circuit of here-used mouse models of autism.
