Pine microbiome responses to eCO2 (fungi)

In this study, we analyzed how variation in the soil microbiome of six distinct Pinus sylvestris L. (Scots pine) forests affected the physiology, growth, and responses to elevated CO2 by Scots pine in a mesocosm experiment. We inoculated a common growing medium with field soils, grew Scots pine from seed for six months, and then characterized microbiomes and linked their variation to seedling development. This project is focused on the fungal component of the microbiome.
