Black Families in the Records of Christ Church, Philadelphia

In 2006 Christ Church Preservation Trust undertook a project to enter the baptismal, marriage, and burial records of Christ Church, Philadelphia into a database to provide easier access to this information, so prized by genealogists and historians. The data entry was done by volunteers and part-time staff over a period of about seven years. This resulted in this large and detailed spreadsheet containing data from the baptism, marriage, and burial records of Christ Church Philadelphia, from 1709 to 1913. The “Notes” field is useful for identifying black individuals in the records.
