Challenging the Rhetoric of ‘Showbiz Jobs’: Human Rights and Feminist Perspectives on Trafficked Women from Lahore, Pakistan

This research delves into the narratives of rescued victims who were trafficked from Pakistan to the United Arab Emirates under the false pretense of 'showbiz jobs'. Employing a comprehensive approach rooted in human rights principles, it considers the stance of the United Nations against trafficking, as well as the National Action Plan's efforts to combat this heinous crime. Moreover, it incorporates feminist perspectives to unveil the underlying reasons and catalysts behind this criminal activity.In shedding light on the intricate web of criminal networks, the study reveals their systematic tactics in ensnaring victims and their covert methods of exploiting vulnerable women, rendering them unable to break free from their grasp. By doing so, this work broadens our understanding of trafficking dynamics, offering new insights into the multifaceted dimensions of this pervasive issue.
