This repository contains the data and R code necessary to reproduce the analyses in the manuscript: "Nest site limitation drives spatial structure of avian-mediated arthropod control in an agroecosystem" (MacDonald et al. 2026). Repository Structure: The repository contains four main analytical components: Arthropod GLMMs: Data and code for running generalized linear mixed models (GLMMs) to evaluate the before-after control-impact (BACI) effect of nest boxes on pest and beneficial arthropod abundances. Diet GLMMs: Data and code for analyzing molecular scatology results of arthropod consumption by cavity-nesting birds. Habitat Selection Models: Data and code for running Resource Selection Functions (RSFs) on GPS-telemetry data to determine the foraging preferences of tree swallows and western bluebirds. N-Mixture Models: Point count data and Bayesian N-mixture models (JAGS) used to estimate the abundance of target (tree swallow, western bluebird) and secondary cavity-nesting species in response to the experimental treatment. All data files are provided in .csv or .RDS formats, and all analysis scripts are written in R.
