Party Document Archive 1884-2023:
The party document archive is Sikt's (formerly NSD) collection of Norwegian party documents from 1884 until today. Here you will find party documents of various kinds from most political parties that have existed in Norway over time.

- About the various documents:
The archive contains election programs for parties that have been represented in the Storting, as well as to varying degrees also for smaller parties that have submitted a list for a Storting election. It also contains a number of local election programs from county and municipal elections, as well as some election programs from Sami parliamentary elections. In addition, the archive contains a program of principles for a number of parties that have stood for election to the Storting.

- In the archive, a number of press releases have been arranged that have been sent out centrally in various parties. The oldest press releases are from the Labor Party in 1990, the newest are from 2006. The coverage of press releases for the various parties varies somewhat, depending on how active the parties themselves have been in including NSD as the recipient of the press releases and to what extent the parties uses press releases as a communication channel.
Otherwise, you will find several other types of documents in the archive, such as articles of association, speeches and foundation declarations. Here are, for example, the Socialist People's Party's foundation declaration of April 1960 and the speech of Einar Gerhardsen from Kråkerøya in February 1948.

- Preparation of the documents:
In this collection, all the documents are wrapped in a zip file with an associated excel file that provides an overview of key information about the files in the collection; title, period, party, file name etc.

The documents are available in different formats, depending on the format they were originally stored in when they were arranged electronically for the first time. In order to be as faithful as possible to the original material, the formatting of the documents in the archive therefore varies between PDF, html and rtf. It is clear from each individual document which formatting has been used.

Press releases from parties are usually handled so that the date and actual sender, which is not always stated in the actual press release, are added to the document (this especially applies to electronic press releases received by e-mail). At the same time, private contact information such as telephone number / e-mail address has been removed, which is often stated at the end as part of the press releases.

- Sources:
The sources for older material are primarily printed versions of the documents. Among other things, collective publications with various election programs are used as a source. From the beginning of the 1990s, NSD received party programs electronically and since the mid / late 1990s, the party documents have mostly been downloaded directly from the Internet. The exception is press releases, which are mainly received from the parties by e-mail.
