YNP Thermoproteales-like Populations. hot springs metagenome

High-temperature environments (> 70 °C) often contain significant numbers of different lineages within the order Thermoproteales (phylum Crenarchaeota), depending on specific physicochemical conditions. However, a comprehensive study of the distribution and function of Thermoproteales populations across different habitat types has not been conducted. Consequently, the goals of this study were to determine the distribution of different Thermoproteales genera across variable geothermal environments of Yellowstone National Park, and to identify key functional attributes of major genera that correlate with geochemical parameters identified in situ.
