资源简介:
My research examines how supervisor-induced pressures impact postgraduate students’ mental health, academic performance, and likelihood of program withdrawal. I conducted a survey with 112 postgraduate students in Indonesia using a structured questionnaire shared through Google Forms. The survey covered demographics, stress levels, coping mechanisms, mental health status, and academic outcomes. The data was analyzed using STATA software, employing both correlation and regression methods.
Key findings show:
The study ties these findings to theories like Stress and Coping Theory, Job Demands-Control Model, and Self-Determination Theory, emphasizing the critical need for balanced supervisory practices and supportive academic environments. Addressing these pressures aligns with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 3 (Good Health and Well-being), 4 (Quality Education), and 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), advocating for reforms in postgraduate education systems to enhance mental health, resilience, and equitable learning opportunities.
These insights aim to guide institutions in creating supportive frameworks, implementing mental health resources, and empowering students for better academic experiences and outcomes.
